We protect lives, enforce safety and respond to emergencies on Harties. Maritime law enforcement and rescue on the dam, appointed by SAMSA.
Right now on the dam
Boats may be on the water from 05:00 to 20:00.
No boats on the water from 20:00 to 05:00: the rule from SAMSA and the Department of Water and Sanitation.

What we do on the water.
A non-profit company with a trained crew and a rescue boat, keeping Harties safe for everyone who uses it.
Enforce safety
Appointed by SAMSA, the South African Maritime Safety Authority, to check skippers, boats and landing sites, and to act when the rules are broken.
Respond to emergencies
A 24-hour emergency number, and a rescue boat on the water, working with SRU Maritime Search and Rescue, the NSRI and the police water wing.
Clear the danger
Joint operations against illegal fishing, and the removal of the dangerous fishing nets left in the dam.
Our water.
